So here's my two MacPro7,1 bare metal (vanilla) configs for Catalina & Big Sur for owners of Asrock TRX40 Creator motherboard. * Thanks to @Pavo, @fabiosun and @iGPU for their incredible help. 1/ Catalina: 10.15.6 + supplementary Update version - shutdown, restarts and sleeps for me. Driftwood Asrock Creator TRX40 Catalina - config.plist.zip Catalina EFI/OC Contents & kexts * Above could easily work with latest kexts. This was tested under OC 0.61 2/ Big Sur Beta 6 - With BS I'm still experimenting but getting shutdown and restart ok. Just need to sort sleep (Ive switched on USB wakeup in BIOS and this sometimes works / sometimes doesn't!) Driftwood Asrock Creator TRX40 - BigSur BM - config.plist.zip Big Sur (beta 6) EFI/OC Contents & kexts * Note: Kexts and OpenCore may get updated as new versions appear. OC 0.61 was used in both configs. ** Some kexts and DSDTs are either deliberately disabled from ACPI or removed from folders due to testing for my hardware etc... *** If you are getting prelinked errors on boot, remove any old kexts in your OSX install drive found in Library/Extensions. Then rebuild kextcache. **** If you have problems installing beta 6 or above ensure you have correct csr-active-config set in config's NVRAM's Add>7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 section and set it to 00000000. Hope it proves helpful. for Asrockers / TRX40 users!

BS Beta 6 Firewire Audio Tip: So firewire/fireface seemed broke (crackly). But you just have to reinstall drivers. Anyone using Firewire cards plus something like a Decklink capture card. Install Decklink first followed by a reinstall of fireface drivers from RME will get firewire audio working again. The Apple firewire driver works as good as old times!

I'm just trying out Big Sur with our Catalina MMIO. Things don't work so good and I even tried without SSDTs (ie DISABLED) on this BS test drive. There seems to be a lot more to do to find the ideal combination. Just gonna try out the complete Catalina EFI on BS to just put something to bed...RESULT: Ok, my working well Catalina EFI wont boot Big SurBM. Testing goes on...

Not using your addresses. I am using my MMIO, just switching off last 3 So after testing out Big Sur (with Pavo's EFI + MY Addresses, last 4 is better than last 3. Last three set to NO turns off keyboard and mouse and can't bring it back to life. Shutdown clicks and reboots. So this is my HAPPY MMIO w'list so far:

Keyboard and mouse go off (USB) when using Pavo's last three only in Catalina. Last four =NO for me, and keyboard and mouse stay on :-) Last 4 NO seems to agree with insanelyMac vit9696 guy then?!

Maybe we're getting down to what devices are being shifted into Above 4G or not :-) ? Be interesting to see (as I have lots of pcie devices going on) if iGPU with his dual radeon like mine get shifted.

@paulthesparky With firewire & RME Fireface 800 working rock steady on bare metal, I assume the MADI stufff will work. Im waiting on them to send me a test card. Apparently theres some new launches coming from RME :-)

Ill try it in both Cat and BS installs UPDATE: Catalina fails on Sleep with Last three set to No. Here's the MMIO for your last 4. BTW, the keyboard and mouse lights go off (disabled USB) when only last three are ON. 07:993 00:005 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0x10000000000 (0x10400 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 1 07:998 00:004 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0x2BF40000000 (0x10400 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 08:003 00:004 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0x47E80000000 (0x10400 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 08:008 00:005 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0x63DC0000000 (0x10400 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 This is why I use last four to NO 🙂 Also did you check MMIO Hex addresses for Above 4G? They should be different (at least some of them) from Above 4G Disabled. With the following (and Above 4G Enabled) my Cat MacPro7,1 system is VERY happy 🙂 12:633 00:005 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0x10000000000 (0x10400 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 12:639 00:005 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0x2BF40000000 (0x10400 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 12:644 00:005 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0x47E80000000 (0x10400 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 12:650 00:005 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0x63DC0000000 (0x10400 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 UPDATE 2: Big Sur BM TEST With the last 4 set to NO= good boot and sleep working.

I have everything working on Catalina BAREMETAL* which is slightly different than yesterday's (its similar to Fabiosun's but one of the Childs has changed to No (child15). And one other has changed to yes - i think it was one of the child's which was originally NO between 9 to 13. I only have the last four MMIO w'lists on NO, everything else is on Yes with my address check and seems to function very well as in Shutdown, Restart and Sleep. Here's My SDST-less config.plist (rename it of course and put your unique board UUIDs in place where it says fill in) and a look at kext versions Im using with OpenCore 61. In this setup I'M NOT USING ANY SSDTs unlike the iGPU/Pavo style ones in Big Sur which I too use. It is pretty much what fabiosun recommended and simply, works! Also you can see the files and dates (clue to their versions) Im using. Dont mix and match. For example, Id originally cloned a Proxmox Cat version 10.15.6 over to my test SSD. Initially it worked, but then I updated to a Supplementary Catalina Update (giving me macOS 10.15.6 (19G2021)) HOWEVER reboot it failed with a few old prelinked kexts. I got it resolved by deleting any old OC kexts such as lilu and whatever green in the test ssd drive's Library/Extensions and then rebuilding the Kextcache pointing kexwizard at the ssd test drive cat install. On reboot I was backup and running as if nothing had happened. *This is MacPro7,1 with Above 4G Enabled. Plus, none of my APCI values are enabled (no sdts) DRIFTWOOD-config.plist.zip Kext stats (use: kextstat | grep -v com.apple)

@meina222 You wanted to know what happened after sleep - here's the results (sleep works BTW in BS on Asrock Creator) Run in terminal: log show --predicate 'processID == 0' | grep prevented Bit off topic but this journos article made me chuckle about EFI problems on real macs, groups and snapshots. https://eclecticlight.co/2020/08/30/last-week-on-my-mac-is-macos-becoming-unmaintainable/

Yeah Im just catching up after a hectic day of failed attempts and work. @fabiosun Did you take a look to see if Realtek driver is registering the correct address COEF values? ie the device gets re-addressed after using Windows or Mac reboot?

Yeah I get you - it certainly seems to help in my Big Sur tests. Thanks for the terrific work you've been doing @iGPU. Appreciate it man. BTW @iGPU you using iMacPro1,1 profile or MacPro7,1 after the last round of tests? Be interesting to hear your thoughts?

Testing out Pavo/iGPU's Big Sur EFI with my MMIO memory maps & Fabiosun's schema and all looking hunky dory. Excellent work guys. The great news about the latest Beta 5 is that Apple's Firewire drivers have been updated and the RME Fireface800 continues to work great as in Catalina BM. BS BM flys!

MMIO addresses will change when using 'Above 4G' and into the higher memory space. I don't see how changing SMBIOS will affect MMIO. As you can see by my earlier post you can see the comparative shift from Above 4G Disabled (red) to Above 4G Enabled (Blue) spreadsheets.

Im not using any DSDTs at all at the moment Still looking into where Im going to need them as Sleep, Shutdown, Restart, Drive icons, Firewire, BT/Wifi, Aquantia and everything else is working fine on BM Cat 10.15.6. So Im all good with Cat. I like @fabiosun methodology is to keep it simple and vanilla as possible - the less we have to do is more! And when it comes to updates etc there will be less to worry about. I think my Proxmox BS install got corrupted somehow so will be using a new install following @iGPUs excellent methodology to install and seal. BTW For any new TRX40 Asrock Creator owners here make sure you download and use firmware 1.70 Update AMD CastlePeakPI-SP3r3-1.0.0.4

@Rocket88 You should have a look at this one fabisun and I have constructed for the Asrock. It should be pretty similar and I am keen to see how your MMIO addresses differ from mine if you choose to go with Above 4G enabled. Once you go through your MMIO let me have a look for compare! config-Asrock TRX40 Creator - fill in smbios.plist.zip Of course, I am using the Mac7,1 smbios. My next quest is to try and get this working with my Big Sur (Proxmox installed) SSD tests drive. If everything works I will begin to swap over from SSDs to the m2 drives. Let me know how you get on. @Rocket88 Q. Why CSM Enabled and Above 4G Disabled? You need CSM disabled and Above 4G is best on in my tests, but I guess each to their own..

@fabiosun The Realtek USB Audio Works both from and back with the front panel headphone socket is very loud and needs turning down the back (Green) port plays perfectly. UPDATE: On cold boot with rear backplate Green Jack occupied, the Realtek has completely disappeared! Hmmm....

You'll have them split by ports 0-4 and 5-8 like we found with Proxmox. Test your sata cable ports.

I worked out my own pattern a few days back working backwards as you mentioned, testing each address with a reboot, did it twice - one for csm disabled and one for Above 4G - and yes. their order was differing. However, the fact that I got no Shutdown, Restart and Sleep proved that the backwards test isn't fool proof. Yes each motherboard has different addresses. But after fabiosun suggested his schema of order of `yes/No' and it working for both mine and his is either a brilliant coincidence or there's something in it. Indeed you could try umpteen combinations of their order, but it does seem the skips are important in certain child numbers. I don't think anyone knows the perfect answer yet. No disrespect to your tireless work @iGPU
