I have proper usb..but I have not that beautiful ioreg you have ๐ @meina222 @igpu have given with his word this idea to my desperate puppies ๐ ๐ are you connecting thunderbolt header to your motherboard? also your usb cable? could you do a test without? only for the science and for my puppies crying ๐

I would like to have this ๐ why @iGPUwe do not have it? maybe a different patched firmware? or Gigabyte does this better than MSI? I think he has USB exposed also without SSDT

ah maybe I have understood I wrote Catalina (it was Big sur) so maybe all of us are saying the same thing ๐ for others: 17 mean high sierra 18 means mojave 19 means catalina 20 means big sur so min 17 max 20.xx means used if set to yes from high Sierra to Catalina (and this caused all 2/3 message down)

@Pavo from high Sierra to Big sur min 17.xx max 20.xx means patch is applied in High Sierra (17.xx) Mojave (18.xx) Catalina (19.xx) Big Sur (20.xx) and this should not be questionable I think

@Pavo you are a pretty skilled user not all have your skill from December I was talking with algrey and testing stuff he Kindly proposed the word I said before are a his thought and he could confirm to you if you are in touch Agree we have to test, if I didn't test we all stay here to wait a new telenovelas video of the "queen of hackintosh"..and we would know zero about how to do.. but TSC stuff is complex.. then..seen only min/max on patches description is possible to understand where there patches are useful or not for others: 17 mean high sierra 18 means mojave 19 means catalina 20 means big sur so min 17 max 20.xx means used if set to yes from high Sierra to Catalina min 17 max 18 used on high Sierra and Mojave and so on!

@all I would clarify a thing...we have done this experiences also in Proxmox if you see my boost increase performances when I was touching TSC stuff related.. so deleting some TSC stuff could give benchmark increments..some time big improvement Pro application do not benefit for this My personal opinion is it is placebo medicine for our desire to improve performance, but I can't see real benefit in application I use however I am happy people try also this way, maybe it could help to improve patches creation My "not advised" message sense is: no all people are skilled as some of you Some times when I have talked about mmio, people with other system or also platform took mine..thinking it was the same for all Also Dortania guide write to use two MMIO like all of us (trx40 owner) have that MMIO (NOT TRUE) So touching patches without knowing the meaning of them could be risky And for this people involved in patches development does not recommend to use in a different way only my two cents about it ๐

I agree @iGPU but I would like to see this in mine ๐ @meina222 not sure in linux , but a flashed card loose its functionality in Windows about of your iPhone USBC test have you done a cold boot with it connected? without a proper SSDT hot plug does not work..I think

yep but VRM and others quality hardware on it could be the difference however not for our task When I have set my system in Italy was available only MSI trx40 Pro 10 g with next delivery day option..It was on 4 December 2019.... My first choice was on Gigabyte designare ex (not available in that period) Happy for my choice ๐

Thank you meina222 for now using a minimal set of patches is not advised by people who discover / maintain them so our bleeding edge hardware is also more in a deeper bleeding edge on the other hand, if we hadn't tried everything we wouldn't be here talking about it .. or not? ๐ If with Proxmox you have the same results it is another important step and now only to understand if it is stable or not 5700xt seems to have a better support for now than radeon VII with old application in Big Sur (also your all 64 cores whiteout HT could be a key)..and this too can be a key to understanding

from your ioreg this seems a big improvments and maybe your claim with Gigabyte have had some success ๐ here instead you miss much data and also in general renaming is not working could you post an ioreg without using any SSDT for thunderbolt?

interesting would be a comparison with your VM result if you have thank goal of this request is to compare GPU in Bare metal with all patches GPU in bare metal with a minimal set of patches (not advised by algrey) GPU in a VM environment (ie Proxmox)

My goal is to see result in Big Sur bare metal and also in proxmox I am also testing in high Sierra with less patches but algrey do not advice to do so but for the sake of testing I am doing the same but no particular benefit using less patches in my case
