  1. drum roll….Probably need to add RestrictEvents.kext and some other tweaks but we have reached the desktop!
  2. I have had this system assembled since December but it was on the back burner…Opencore does take a real long time to load the boot picker fyi. It is in an old case with a Volkswagon Type2 style theme, even the side panel has wheels. Previously this case was home to an Intel 3rd Gen…long due for an upgrade.
  3. The system has rebooted and is now at the apple logo with a count down of 28 minutes remaining…
  4. I found a spare Samsung 840 Evo 1TB SATA III SSD and connected it to my motherboard. It currently has an APFS ”container” for another system so I added a volume titled “VENTURA.” Although the disk is connected to an internal header, it is identified as external. Regardless, the installer is currently running….
  5. Using the EFI that fabioson shared above, the system booted into the installer! I did not try the 2nd config.plst, I am going to attempt installation now. Standby…
  6. Hello, I have returned from an outing. I do have a spare disk here to attempt installation with. I will give the EFI a try and return with my results. I do prefer Linux more and more these days....but the ACPI and OpenCore are exciting
  7. Plus my current Config.plist with SMBIOS removed. Going to name with starting as v01 backinblackx86_v01_TRX50_SMBIOS-removed_config.zip
  8. Pardon the delay, OpenCore loads very slowly for some reason…I selected the recovery option #1 and it is proceeding…seems to hang at the same place. I will reboot into Linux and post the EFI with systemlog. Okay, the SysReport is attached! backinblackx86_trx50_SysReport.zip

  10. ProperTree showed those as entires 18 and 19, I marked the Enabled Boolean as FALSE
  11. Hello there Fabiosun. I am still booted into Linux but am about to reboot with the sysreport flag enabled. Are the "two visual kernel patches" you speak of the "mtrr_update_action - fix PAT" ? Here is my complete EFI: backinblackx86_trx50_efi_SMBIOS-REMOVED.zip

  13. Thank you for the response. I have updated my signature with my system specifications. We have a timezone difference since I am located in New York. Earlier this week I successfully created an AM4 Ventura/Sonoma system, therefore I am familiar with the AMD Vanilla patches (https://github.com/AMD-OSX/AMD_Vanilla) however the TRx50/Zen4 platform is new to me for MacOSx86. I have studied the Open Core Install Guide (https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/), specifically the steps pertaining to KASLR-FIX (https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/extras/kaslr-fix.html) and CaseySJ's post on the AMD-OSX forum about AM5 in general and MimoWhitelisting (https://forum.amd-osx.com/threads/ryzen-7000-testing.3318/post-25894). So far I have been unable to boot the Ventura recovery installer. In my post above, I shared my recent config.plist as well as Open Core Debug Log file. I will boot into my BIOS and record my specific settings. In the mean time, I copied what I have posted to AMD-OSX (https://forum.amd-osx.com/threads/ryzen-threadripper-trx50.4776). There I was told "Since you're using a DEBUG version of OpenCore, just set Misc>Debug>SysReport: true" I will give it a go and report back. I created a fresh OPENCORE GPT volume on a 16GB USB 2.0 disk. The disk contains 0.9.7-DEBUG along with a com.apple.recovery.boot folder of Ventura. I opened up ProperTree and performed a "clean snapshot" of my OC folder with the sample.plist renamed as config.plist. Booter>Quirks>DevirtualiseMmio TRUE This is new to me: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/extras/kaslr-fix.html VERY slow to boot the USB…painful but it did make some progress… currently hanging at : Couldn’t alloc class “AppleKeyStoreTest” 127:401 00:085 OCABC: MMIO devirt start 127:487 00:085 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0xE0000000 (0x10000 pages, 0x800000000000100D) skip 0 127:851 00:363 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0xF1300000 (0x100 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 127:934 00:083 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0xFEA00000 (0x100 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 128:298 00:364 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0xFEC00000 (0x1 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 128:667 00:369 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0xFEC10000 (0x1 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 128:749 00:082 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0xFEC30000 (0x1 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 128:832 00:082 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0xFED00000 (0x1 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 129:201 00:368 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0xFED40000 (0x5 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 129:282 00:081 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0xFED80000 (0x10 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 129:365 00:082 OCABC: MMIO devirt 0xFF000000 (0x1000 pages, 0x8000000000000001) skip 0 129:730 00:365 OCABC: MMIO devirt end, saved 280676 KB 129:814 00:084 OCABC: Only 168/256 slide values are usable! 129:899 00:084 OCABC: Valid slides - 88-255
  14. Hello, I am new here. I am trying to boot the Ventura installer on my 7960x Trx50 system without any luck… https://forum.amd-osx.com/threads/ryzen-threadripper-trx50.4776/ trx50-config-oc-log.zip
