  1. I can’t say the SSDT we added changed any of the MacOS Sleep functionality. On a separate topic: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1749336-REG/intel_ax210_d2wg_nvxc_killer_ax1675_ieee_802_11ax.html/ this is the wifi card I have, the killer 1675 https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/211485/intel-killer-wifi-6e-ax1675-xw/specifications.html I will have to confirm as it installed in my Dell G7 Laptop..
  2. “Suspend” under debian linux is different…while the cpu fans continue to spin and the display turns off…neither the power button wake the display, mouse, or keyboard! This was booted via systemd, not OC. Hard to hard reset the system by holding the power button down…suspend under debian was a bad idea…waiting to post.
  3. Okay am back in the system, not sure what caused the reboot The case power button still does not have any function. Sleep appears to only rest the display….I will see how this system sleeps in Linux. To confirm, the power button does wake the display just as a keyboard press does.
  4. https://support.apple.com/kb/sp238?locale=en_US the specs for my first Mac, the “Quadra 900” hmmm okay the system reboot after adding that ssdt…
  5. I have left the machine online and according to the terminal, uptime of 5:38. Apple logo menu > click sleep: cpu cooler fans continue spinning….case LED power light is solid….display is off…one press of spacebar woke the display. A single press of the case power button once after the display is off, does wake the display…however the menu does not appear. I will now load the SSDT…and reboot…stand by https://computerhistory.org/exhibits/hello-the-mac-at-40/ The Mac is now 40 years old and here we are configuring a new x86 platform!
  6. https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NH-U14S-TR5-SP6-Premium-Threadripper/dp/B0CHRS9RXB https://noctua.at/en/nh-u14s-tr5-sp6 this is the unit I am using, but I believe the air flow is limited in my case as well.
  7. Will it work as a scratch disk or is it best to avoid all MacOS use and only use it for Windows/Linux? I may install an WD 850X (Sandisk)
  8. NY is buzzing I am excited to test this system…still need to setup on an nvme as well as install Wi-Fi…but most everything else appears functional with the exception of my front panel Audio. Also need to test a microphone input.
  9. For some reason on my AM4, the system preferences update would not download until I engaged with the app store. Am running Cinebench now…
  10. Speaking of Sonoma, I should clone this Ventura volume to another volum, inject my SMBIOS, and attempt to update through the App Store, that is what worked on my AM4 system. Power Gadget is working well, and I am going to run Cinebench My local shop does have a WD 4TB 850x available, I may pick it up...another user has warned against using the T700
  11. I do have here a "BCM943602CS" that is on a PCI-E 1x adapter. Looks like it can be easily replaced with the Intel. I do have the Intel card in a laptop.
  12. Yes, I was using the SMCAMDProcessor.kext to do so with AMD Power Gadget. https://github.com/trulyspinach/SMCAMDProcessor/releases/tag/0.7.1 https://www.maxon.net/en/downloads/cinebench-2024-downloads
  13. ALL IS OKAY, the BIOS did NOT reset! I moved the updated TB4 SSDTs to my SATA disks EFI...reboots much faster than the random 2.0 flash drive. System appears stable, I will try and source a TB device for further testing. Besides "Geekbench" are there other stress testing tools to use? In the past when I was not so familiar with the CLI, I would use Black Magic's Read/Write test, https://benchmark.unigine.com/heaven, Cinebench https://www.maxon.net/en/tech-info-cinebench, and Prime 95 https://www.mersenne.org/download/
  14. The system did restart in the middle of booting a 2nd time…but the BIOS was NOT reset…
  15. Okay, I was able to backup my BIOS profile before I attempted the TB4 SSDT. The system booted successfully. Attached is the latest IO REG backinblackx86_IOREG_v5_SSDT-TB4.zip
  16. I will also try and backup my BIOS settings. I concur that TB4 is experimental and could reset the entire system. I don't particularly have a need for the feature set of USB4. The LG monitor I have is connected to an X670E motherboard to the rear I/O USB-C port, without using any DP patch cable to the GPU, it displays the X11 Linux GUI from an Nvidia GPU, has been a bit inconsistent, however. If I do get back into video editing, I could see TB being useful. I will look into the options available. A decade ago, I used TB2 with a SATA enclosure with an iMac/Mac Book Pro for Multicam 1080p editing, it was hot enough to fry an egg.
  17. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?q=thunderbolt 4 dock sure are a lot of options, expensive yet nothing too exciting, but I did spot one with a NVmE slot...this display LG does have USB-C input and a USB-A 3.1 ports along with a KVM switch...the motherboard features a "DP In" port that I suppose is for passing through the GPU output to the TB connection...I have never used it.
  18. What hardware to test USB4/TB4, a multiport dock or a display with USB-C input? I do have an LG https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1697427-REG/lg_28mq780_b_aus_27_6_sdqhd_2560_x.html/
