NY is buzzing I am excited to test this system…still need to setup on an nvme as well as install Wi-Fi…but most everything else appears functional with the exception of my front panel Audio. Also need to test a microphone input.- 284 replies

Speaking of Sonoma, I should clone this Ventura volume to another volum, inject my SMBIOS, and attempt to update through the App Store, that is what worked on my AM4 system. Power Gadget is working well, and I am going to run Cinebench My local shop does have a WD 4TB 850x available, I may pick it up...another user has warned against using the T700- 284 replies

I do have here a "BCM943602CS" that is on a PCI-E 1x adapter. Looks like it can be easily replaced with the Intel. I do have the Intel card in a laptop.- 284 replies

Yes, I was using the SMCAMDProcessor.kext to do so with AMD Power Gadget. https://github.com/trulyspinach/SMCAMDProcessor/releases/tag/0.7.1 https://www.maxon.net/en/downloads/cinebench-2024-downloads- 284 replies

ALL IS OKAY, the BIOS did NOT reset! I moved the updated TB4 SSDTs to my SATA disks EFI...reboots much faster than the random 2.0 flash drive. System appears stable, I will try and source a TB device for further testing. Besides "Geekbench" are there other stress testing tools to use? In the past when I was not so familiar with the CLI, I would use Black Magic's Read/Write test, https://benchmark.unigine.com/heaven, Cinebench https://www.maxon.net/en/tech-info-cinebench, and Prime 95 https://www.mersenne.org/download/- 284 replies

I will also try and backup my BIOS settings. I concur that TB4 is experimental and could reset the entire system. I don't particularly have a need for the feature set of USB4. The LG monitor I have is connected to an X670E motherboard to the rear I/O USB-C port, without using any DP patch cable to the GPU, it displays the X11 Linux GUI from an Nvidia GPU, has been a bit inconsistent, however. If I do get back into video editing, I could see TB being useful. I will look into the options available. A decade ago, I used TB2 with a SATA enclosure with an iMac/Mac Book Pro for Multicam 1080p editing, it was hot enough to fry an egg.- 284 replies

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?q=thunderbolt 4 dock sure are a lot of options, expensive yet nothing too exciting, but I did spot one with a NVmE slot...this display LG does have USB-C input and a USB-A 3.1 ports along with a KVM switch...the motherboard features a "DP In" port that I suppose is for passing through the GPU output to the TB connection...I have never used it.- 284 replies

that appears to have done the trick...I will test the stability with iperf3 if it is available on the cli. Appears to be stable, at least at 1000baseT, my 10GbE equipment is in another area. iperf3 -c 96.57.56.82 -f M Connecting to host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, port 5201 [ 4] local 192.168.50.154 port 49224 connected to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port 5201 [ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth [ 4] 0.00-1.00 sec 116 MBytes 116 MBytes/sec [ 4] 1.00-2.00 sec 112 MBytes 112 MBytes/sec [ 4] 2.00-3.00 sec 112 MBytes 112 MBytes/sec [ 4] 3.00-4.00 sec 112 MBytes 112 MBytes/sec [ 4] 4.00-5.00 sec 112 MBytes 112 MBytes/sec [ 4] 5.00-6.00 sec 112 MBytes 112 MBytes/sec [ 4] 6.00-7.00 sec 112 MBytes 112 MBytes/sec [ 4] 7.00-8.00 sec 112 MBytes 112 MBytes/sec [ 4] 8.00-9.00 sec 112 MBytes 112 MBytes/sec [ 4] 9.00-10.00 sec 112 MBytes 112 MBytes/sec - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth [ 4] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.10 GBytes 113 MBytes/sec sender [ 4] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.10 GBytes 112 MBytes/sec receive- 284 replies
