  1. the problem actually returned (so it never went away in the first place) 😞 Previously I had the macOS installed on the SK Hynix's P41. So I took out all the drives, and just let the P41 stay, and did a fresh installation of macOS. Still the same problem. So I doubt it's the other drives. Please help me!
  2. thank you. It seems enabling the nvme fix kext did the trick. I had it in the kext folder, but in the config.plist it was not enabled for some reason 🙂
  3. I have just added SSDs, now filling up all the M.2 slots on the motherboard. I just removed the said section from the config.plist. It's still the same, the system while booting restarts midway several times, and I have once booted to black screen..
  4. thanks. I updated the bluetoolfixup kext, and disabled the AppleIGB (I don't use the wired ethernet anyway). The system restarted once midway during boot.. I am not sure about device properties for the GPU. Should I remove these and see if the system becomes more stable?
  5. hello everyone, recently, my system got unstable in the sense that many a times when rebooting, it would randomly reboot midway, or boot to a black screen. Many restarts are required to get to desktop. It is almost like a matter of chance that the system shall boot to a normal working state. Kindly someone help me with it. I am on 13.5 https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1M1zw1HAjTuTBfkEV5p6oKnw9HwxZKnaW?usp=share_link Thanks a lot.
  6. which patches require setting MaxKernel to 23.99.99 other than the probeBustGated Disable 10 bit tags by CaseSJ?
  7. @Ploddles thanks for telling me. I’d wait for it to get working before I try on my machine. It’s my work machine anyway, so I would want it to be stable… @fabiosun right. I use a USB adapter anyway, but it’d be good to get the onboard one to work too for Apple’s techs that use WiFi
  8. I have tried to update my system to 13.3.1 from 13.3. I am downloading the "small" update 584.7MB, and it is not reverting to the "big" update, which then leads to finishing update. Can you please tell me how did you update it? I thought I patched the RestrictedEvents kext to fix it, but clearly I have not.
  9. would definitely try exploring why did it happen. I do not have a wired connection, so I don't know if the Ethernet works. WiFi works just fine, and bluetooth the one built on-board does not work, but I use a dongle, which works.
  10. wow that was a roller coaster ride to update to 13.3. I used the patches @fabiosun posted. It got the installation going, till it got into a restart loop. After that I used the EFI @fabiosun posted which finished the installation. When I tried booting, it won't boot, so I switched back to my own EFI to finish installation and booting. Phew! Thanks a lot @fabiosun
  11. Thank you very much. I am downloading the update again as we speak. Hopefully this shall go through. I just checked on Gigabyte's website, the ethernets are Intel's X550-AT2
  12. Oh I see. Thanks so much, and it’s for 13.2.1 (and all previous ones that I’ve installed so far after getting onto TRX40 platform 🙂 ) I use wireless connection. On board Ethernets are Intel’s I think i211 or something
  13. thank you. When adding all these patches, and running ocvalidate, I am getting this error which I have tried looking up: Kernel->Patch[18]->Replace requires ReplaceMask to be active for corresponding bits! Kernel->Patch[19]->Replace requires ReplaceMask to be active for corresponding bits! These are the patches CaseySJ - Fix alloc_dma_buffer, and CaseSJ - Fix IOBufferMemoryDescriptor::withOptions. On the documentation it says Most binary patches must have Find, Replace, Mask (if used), and ReplaceMask (if used) identical size set. Also, Find requires Mask (or Replace requires ReplaceMask) to be active (set to non-zero) for corresponding bits. But I am unable to really interpret it. Can you please help me with it? Also when using the file you posted here, and replacing all my patches with these, and adding the 20 at appropriate places for the four patches, it moves forward but reboots midway...
  14. thank you very much @fabiosun. Actually I just updated to the version 0.9.0 and it seems that the problem is gone, at least for now. So probably it was an issue with something in the last two (0.8.8, 0.8.9) versions 🙂
  15. hello everyone, I use a usb dac for audio. There are regular interruptions in the audio output, in the sense that audio shall be lost for half a second after every five seconds or so. This has been going on forever, and is not due to a recent update or anything. The dac works perfectly fine on my linux installation on the same machine, and on my MacBook, so it is definitely the hackintosh. I am not using any audio kext like AppleALC or anything. Can some one please gimme some advise on resolving this issue?
  16. Is there a way (boot arg or something) to get the system to boot to desktop without graphics acceleration with 7900 xtx? it seems some people have been able to get to desktop but for me it is stuck at tx_flush:1241: disk3 xid …..
  17. yeah that is the thing. I work with huge matrices so need a large amount of RAM. 128GB would not cut it, I need at least 220GB. If 64GB dimms appear in the future, then certainly this would be the way to go. Number of cores I actually do not need 32 cores at all, so 16 cores would be more than enough. That reminds me, the incremental updates issue has been resolved using the boot argument, right?
