  1. Well that might be ideal as I typically leave my MacOS system online 24/7.
  2. I returned the 9950x today and decided to keep the 7980x. That’s a big leap from the 24-core 7960x, thoughts? @fabiosun
  3. I still have the 9950x sealed in the box and have yet to install it into a motherboard. Ideally, while I have one of the Pro-Art x670e servers offline, I should be able to upgrade the cpu and attempt to boot MacOS. How well does the Zen 5 perform compared against the Zen 4?
  4. Hello, I now have an AM5 setup in need of booting MacOSx86 as the Trx50 has been put in use as a Linux Nvidia-gpu rendering server: Ryzen 9950x 16-core ASUS ProArt x670e Corsair 192GB 4x48GB (CMK192GX5M4B5200C38) FENVi T919 (Pulled from Trx50 build) I never did get around to updating the Trx50 build beyond 14.4.1. I would like to clone my Trx50 setup but perhaps starting fresh is ideal. Thoughts?
  5. I am still running Sonoma 14.4.1. My current setup is very stable. Are the updates difficult?
  6. My Gigabyte Trx50 AeroD is still running strong, months of uptime and never a hiccup. I have not updated past 14.4.1, however.
  7. Uptime of 19 days so far. I do see there is an update for Sonoma 14.4.1-> 14.5. I will clone my current installation and test.
  8. The system continues to function well. I recently enabled iServices as well as Airdrop with a Broadcom Wifi/BT pci-e card.
  9. yes, find a SATA disc if you can. Are you in USA? I am in Ny. Perhaps a windows port mapping is meeded? https://github.com/USBToolBox/tool
  10. yes, to confirm, are you trying to boot a cloned, pre-made, installation with recovery or full installer? via nvme? have you tried a sata ssd? usb?
  11. kind of think of it, my MsI B550 5900x build has a similar symptom as this ASUS, it hangs at the same exact point where it won’t boot Monterey, yet Sonoma and Ventura are fine. Could it be a similar cause. Have you tried older OS?
  12. CaseySJ over at amd-osx said “Have all the usual factors been checked, such as: CFG-Lock — this is usually not a problem on AMD, but we can always compensate by enabling Kernel quirks AppleCpuPmCfgLock and AppleXcfmCfgLock It is also possible that OpenRuntime.efi is not able to find/calculate slide value”
  13. wow great score…makes me think I should have saved up for a 7970x… I came across a Reddit post of a user having trouble with their Asus…perhaps related? They mentioned a USB firmware update from ASUS that can only be done from Windows. The ASUS support page: https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/workstation/pro-ws-trx50-sage-wifi/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=Pro-WS-TRX50-SAGE-WIFI conveniently mentions that we need to run some ".exe" file to update USB firmware.
  14. perhaps an old usb 2.0 disk will work. That is what I initially used for the efi
