I have Big Sur 11.2 working but when I try to update to 11.3 since I have access to developer releases it just hangs
I need to see if I am missing a kernel patch
is there a list I can use to compare against my config.plist in OC to see if one was missed or such?
Add this patch for 11.3 beta. Put maxkernel 20.3.0 to the old force penryn patch to mantain compatibility for the older kernels:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <dict> <key>Patch</key> <array> <dict> <key>Arch</key> <string>x86_64</string> <key>Base</key> <string></string> <key>Comment</key> <string>DhinakG - cpuid_set_cpufamily - force CPUFAMILY_INTEL_PENRYN - 11.3b1</string> <key>Count</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>Enabled</key> <true/> <key>Find</key> <data>MdIAAIA9AAAAAAZ1AA==</data> <key>Identifier</key> <string>kernel</string> <key>Limit</key> <integer>0</integer> <key>Mask</key> <data>//8AAP//AAAA////AA==</data> <key>MaxKernel</key> <string>20.99.99</string> <key>MinKernel</key> <string>20.4.0</string> <key>Replace</key> <data>swG6vE/qeOldAAAAkA==</data> <key>ReplaceMask</key> <data></data> <key>Skip</key> <integer>0</integer> </dict> </array> </dict> </dict> </plist>
This worked for me thanks to @tomnic

I've found that updates don't install properly unless car-active-config is set to 00000000 as shown below. After changing, you must re-boot, then re-try the OS update.
(I keep a set of alternative settings inactivated with a "#" symbol shown as the top of this section.)
It worked thanks.

Im having an issue downloading and installing 11.2 RC . I have access to Apple Developer Program but it tells me my Mac is up to date even after I enrolled in e the Apple Developer Seed Program . I was able to update my MacBook Pro to 11.2 RC just fine. Im also trying to find a way to download the update using my MacBook into a usb and then run form the USB but don't think there is a link .

Hi all.
I got COVID two weeks ago. I self-treated at home and did well until this past weekend when the "cytokine storm" hit me (I was too conservative with steroid use). A 3-day hospital admission tuned me up and excluded some really serious stuff that I fortunately did not have (DVT/PE). I left hospital today; now back at home and reading this thread on my laptop with supplemental oxygen (and lots of steroids and blood thinners).
BTW, I sero-converted, meaning I now have antibodies to COVID. This means I now have natural immunity with no need for a vaccine. (The idea of herd immunity is to either naturally develop antibodies from COVID directly, or, develop antibodies by receiving a vaccine.)
Hopefully this week I'll get to use the TRX40 again. (Actually, it's been on for past 2 weeks as I was editing a video-documentary on it when I got sick and was unable to easily turn it off. Very stable machine!)
Feel better great to have you back . Both my sisters and brother in laws had it and recovered. God bless your ok and welcome back.

I'm specking out a TR-39070X build on the Zenith II Extreme Alpha, as described in my signature below. Will be used mainly for video editing/rendering, using FCPX and After Effects. I notice that, out of 14 commenters on this thread, only one, Asus fanboy @valmeida, uses this motherboard. Aside from the ASMedia SATA controller, which I probably won't be using, are there reasons related to Hackintoshing that I should be dissuaded from using this board?
I finally got Big Sur Beta 6 and Catalina working . I like the board that only thing you need to make sure you have adequate cooling I your case.

fabiosun,
1) I could not boot with Above 4G enabled unless I also enabled CSM. Even with 4G enabled, if npc=0x2000 is present as boot-arg, it still boots. I'm not certain I see the downside of leaving npc=0x2000 present; are there problems in the log that I'm missing?
2) From reading recent posts, I don't quite understand what you're recommending for MmioWhitelist.
a) Are you saying it should be the same for all TRX40 mobos?
b) And that you found something different with Pavo from the list I'd originally posted for the MSI Creator?
3) Were you able to get AMDRyzenCPUPowerManagement.kext to work in Big Sur?
Can someone point me to were read how to create a MMIO whitelist for my board.?

I will do it when I get home .

@iGPU did you takedown the Github I was trying to read it again to see if I have missed anything and try your latest build since I'm having issues shutting down or restating the machine. I still can not see my 2 hard drives my back up ssd that I use to make a back up before making any changes and my music drive. I can see them on Promox.

I'm not sure that you want a Microsoft boot folder inside the OC EFI folder.
What specific SATA are missing? Are they formatted for OS X or other OSs as this will affect what shows up. (If you want other OSs, you'll need different drivers.)
Load a IORE file for your build.
You don't want to use DSDT in OC on this build. As for USBs, I've never seen more than 10 ports per device. The 15 port limit is per device, not per machine.
****
I've not seen any reboots with any tests on bare metal or VM.
Some tests crash, like the Corona test, but on forced exit, the macOS was fine.
Here is my IORE

if you have big sata disk greater than 4tb they could be appear (sometime) after a bit , if you see in disk utility app they are there but osx loose some time to mount them
in my case it happens with two 10tb exfat formatted drive
i do not know if your asus extreme ii use differents kind of sata controller
maybe you can check but i do not think so
The drives are 4 TB and one is formatted in NTFS and the other is APFS

I have a few SATA drives are not loading . It leads me to believe that a specific SATA controller is not loading . I have attached my EFI folder and list of PCIE devices I pulled from Hanckingtool . Should I add special devices to the Device Properties in my config.plist or can a ssd be or DSST be crated and added. One more thing does the 15 port usb limit apply with AMD ? In my previous builds I would have to map out each port using the Hackingtool and then export a USBPorts.kext. Also not shutting down.

This might work. You'll need to fill-in SN parts. I also left kexts activated for BT/WiFi; turn-off it you don't want them. This is using compilation from yesterday for OC v061. Patches were from fabiosun's post above.
***
Depending up whether "Above 4G Encoding" is enabled or disabled, "npci=0x2000" may need to be entered into the boot arg section of OpenCore. If you get a boot failure, try adding "npci=0x2000" and see if that helps. It is not present in the attached EFI folder.
