a dirty solution could be to disable all your internal Ethernet cards and  built in Wi-Fi card and to delete Ethernet plist config as suggested on the guide

Rebooting and see if it works

it should be en0 after this procedure

I tried that but the issue is not having the usbc Ethernet adapter binding to EN0 that works as it should. The issue is that it need to show up as builtin so that all the Apple iCloud services to work.

Just tried this and the card does show up in MacOS but it doesn't get an IP. (still on OpenCore 0.7.9)

Thanks for trying with the usb c adapter  I get an ip address and are able to browse and download at full 1 gig both up and down . The only thing is that I can not uses none of the Apple ICloud service 😢

  3. OK I give up trying to get my Aquantia integrated 10 gig card to work on Monterey. I bought a USBC adapter that works on my MacBook Pro and also on my Hackintosh. The only thing is in order for the Apple server to authenticate so that I can get messenger and iCloud working it needs to show up as built in. Can someone show me how I can change that usb  network adapter as built in with OC 7.9

@valmeidaDisableIoMapper is a parameter in your kernel quirk (and we have always disabled it in the past)

    VT-D is an Intel thing

For AMD you have to search in your bios SVM (Secure Virtual Machine) 😉

I tried and still no luck I bought a USBC 2.5 GHZ Ethernet adapter. it recognizes it but now i need to force  OSX to see it as a built in adapter so my icloud and I message works . How can i do that?. One more question how can i update my OC so that i can get the log to update my MmioWhitelist.

    Yes it is

but you can’t use it in old opencore release

you must use 0.80 version and you have also to do some bios adjustment

if you did all maybe you can open an issue on opencore GitHub bug tracker

I have upated my OC to 8.0 .

Based on the OC 8.0 relase notes these are the changes in the bios we need to make for Aquantia card to work .

    ForceAquantiaEthernet

    Type: plist boolean

    Failsafe: false

    Requirement: 10.15.4

Description: Enable Aquantia AQtion AQC-107s based 10GbE network cards support.

This option enables Aquantia AQtion AQC-107s based 10GbE network cards support, which used to work natively

    before macOS 10.15.4.

Note: In order for Aquantia cards to properly function, DisableIoMapper must be disabled, DMAR ACPI table

must not be dropped, and VT-d must be enabled in BIOS.

None of these settings DisableIoMapper , DMAR ACPI table and VT-d are avalaible on my bios seetings. I could be wrong but  these bios settings are for Intel chipsets. 😞

    Hi @valmeida

    your EFI had some problems

this attached should be corrected you had also an error on Aquantia definition

I do not know if it solves your problem

I suggest to learn this simple app to update OC:

    https://github.com/ic005k/OCAuxiliaryTools

    EFI-078 valmeida.zip 26.13 MB · 1 download

Thanks this is a great tool. I would love to look at your config.plist to do a comparison and see what's different maybe I can figure out why my AQatina card won't work on Monterey.

  7. I just discovered if I update my OC by validating with  ProperTree and trying to commit by config.plist by doing an OC snapshot it won't boot. I want to compare my config.plist before the snapshot and after. Can someone guide me? I would like to update OC to  .78

I tried to use OC_tool to see what is going on I got the error below

Perhaps if we update the Aquantia fw/Windows drivers (I know Asrock TRX40 Creator have an updated fw/driver on their site for Windows 11 ), then the Monterey beta 12.3 betas driver may tally up with it and work? Ill try this out over the next few days unless someone wants to do it quickly. I think you can roll back the Aquantia fw update driver to Windows 10 if it fails.

Did you ever get it to work? I have tried in all flavors of Monterey  beta including yesterday beta 4 no luck. It works like a champ one Big Sur.

I would give it a try but need to  research how to do it .

@valmeida Quick question, do you disable the Aquantia kext for Big Sur when you boot into Monterey?

Yes I created an EFI just for Monteray

  11. I'm back was out of commission for a while due to health reasons . Great to see everyone still working in making our AMD machines work with OS X. The last I left off I couldn't  get my Aquatina 10gig  internal card  to work on Monteray but it works great with Big Sur. I just updated my Big Sure to 11.6.4 and running Monterey 12.2. I have attached my working EFI to see if anyone have any ideas .
