Strangely, upgrading to 12.2 went fine, but after trying to upgrade to 12.3 Public Beta 1 my boot stalls with;

X86PlatformPlugin::getCPUStates - Unexpected data for C1
X86PlatformPlugin::getCPUStates - Unexpected data for C2

Anyone run into this?

Have you inserted AppleMCEReportDisabler kext?

It is mandatory if you use some SMBios like MacPro7.1 or ImacPro1.1

I must have if it's mandatory, since Big Sur all the way to Monterey 12.2 were all running fine. It's the latest beta that won't boot. Only recent change to EFI was updating Opencore, but that worked fine in 12.2...

@23d1

which smbios are you using?

that disabler shouldn’t be there from 10.15.7

then now it is useful to

 install and to boot with 12.3

Using MacPro7,1. Just confirmed I wasn't using it prior, so I'll add it. Strange that it's back in play after so many versions of macOS where it wasn't needed... Will report back.

Edit;

I got past the verbose boot, but currently stuck on the Apple and progress bar. Guessing it still has updates to apply but nothing is happening. Will give it a solid 30 minutes and see if it gets past.

Ok if you add again it will work in 12.3

you can limit its use only there with min kernel value on kext

21.4.0

That did it. Got back in. Strangely, from 12.2 and onward I randomly lose CPU powermanagement, like the issues I was having prior where it only shows 2.9Ghz/2.9Ghz for the throttling of the 3990x. Resetting bios, then setting the right parameters again booted me back with it working once, gonna try again—hopefully that isn't the new norm. If they could just add more cores to the kernel, damnit! 🙂

I'm back was out of commission for a while due to health reasons . Great to see everyone still working in making our AMD machines work with OS X. The last I left off I couldn't  get my Aquatina 10gig  internal card  to work on Monteray but it works great with Big Sur. I just updated my Big Sure to 11.6.4 and running Monterey 12.2. I have attached my working EFI to see if anyone have any ideas .

Hi all, wanted to share my latest EFI for ASrock TRX40 motherboard with you.

  • macOS Monterey 12.2
  • Opencore 0.7.7
  • Replaced internal wifi with MacOS compatible one
  • Running stable for weeks now
  • Bluetooth / WiFi working
  • Handoff / Apple Watch unlock working
  • Sleep working consistently (finally) even my carbon copy cloner wakes from sleep, runs a backup and sleeps again. 🙂 😎

Thanks to @Rocket88 @Driftwood  for sharing their ASrock results and of course to @fabiosun and all others who contributed on this forum.

Have you completely disabled the onboard Intel Wifi/BT and replaced with a dongle or PCIe card? Bluetooth and Wifi is working for me with the onboard Intel on the ASRock TRX40 Creator. Handoff, not sure, airdrop not working.

Thank you @Rox67erfor your EFI

with your permission I would like to insert it in OP

We are missing an ASRock solution in that post

If you agree and if possible, post an ioreg of your system.

I will add them in the initial post

Thank you

Yes off course, no problem. Always good to have a starting point for new users.

Attached my IOReg.

Swapped Wifi / BT for MacOS compatible one, airdrop/handoff/apple watch unlock all working. So this is an onboard solution and thus onboard WiFi/BT is enabled. (Just to intel anymore) More details here: https://www.macos86.it/topic/2675-proxmox-ve-osx-guide-discussion/?do=findComment&comment=76704

@valmeida Quick question, do you disable the Aquantia kext for Big Sur when you boot into Monterey?

Yes I created an EFI just for Monteray
