fatto prima con sistema multi ELFICO 😁 ad esempio nel T-RyZo ho 4 EFI 2 windows ognuno con sua EFI le restanti 2 EFI dedicate a OC 1 stable con NDK dove avvio direttamente anche windows un'altra che segue lo sviluppo di OC, per cui sempre in evoluzione, per test nuovi kext o triks vari.

@Driftwood Apple has worked for me 🙂 catalina 10.15.5 solved my audio problem and then I have said to Pavo this and also him reached my same situation with his trx40 system (audio perfect but jack detection problematic) Now I think he is trying with Unraid and see if there could be the same or better. For now I stay in Proxmox. system is production ready and no so much time to invest to learn Unraid

Following comments are FYI and have no immediate direct bearing on this build. I'm researching various Linux distributions and came across this news: Linus Torvalds has switched to using an MSI TRX40 Creator + 3970X, where the build is described here. Linus describes here using Linux 5.7-rc7. This all would suggest that the TRX40 platform will have increasingly better Linux support. I left Windows 10 running over night and zero issues, even after running many different stress tests. That led me to look for issues affecting Linux but not Windows: Core 6 issues can do this. But after making those changes described here in BIOS (changing 'Typical current idle', from 'Auto' or 'Low current idle'), the same error messages and kernel panel with shutdown happened under Proxmox. So no fix for my CPU.

If that's a bootloader issue, nothing can yet be done to overcome that. Acidanthera team already tries to make the best out of his own efforts, but unfortunately icelake laptops are still unsupported, especially this one at the title of the topic - other people at insanelymac.com managed to boot but iGPU drivers were missing, so we need to ping them if anything is changed. When I'll have some time, I'll try to remove the SSD, but I have to be careful with the warranty policies about that. At this point in time I'm not using that laptop since I got used to Linux/macOS, and I had many issues with Linux as well, such as: -trackpad not recognized by linux kernel -audio not working in kernel version 5.5.0 and above (only on v5.4.0 I have onboard audio and microphone working) -IRQ problem on boot, check the solution/workaround here https://support.lenovo.com/pl/en/solutions/ht505228

Nope. All good so far - pondering whether to switch in the SATA's now so I'll update you shortly. Even ran migration assistant on the USB-C rear in record time! 2TB done inside an hour - now you know how long MA normally takes, it waits around for ages checking things - its not really so much hard drive/net speed - its processing/checking off things. This was real quick. 8K Update: Managed to get the Dell 8K monitor working in 8K Catalina 10.15.5 with ResXtreme. My god it was soooo tiny that I had to scale.

Puoi provare a modificare le impostazioni tramite l'app che usi per le videoconferenze. Magari te la imposta in automatico su 360p anziché 720p.

No non era stato detto, infatti sono arrivato alla Scrivania 👍 EFI in allegato, ho voluto lasciare comunque i 2 kext video provenienti dalla 10.15.4 EFIuhd630.zip

Quando si fanno queste prove cmq e si hanno due o tre uscite video, avere gli adattatori per testarle tutte non sarebbe una cattiva idea, magari su tre una la becchi... Si questa è la strada...

That's Pavo's old system. He only just bought the msi. Expect an update from him when he gets the chance but he's busy trying to get audio working on the new trx40 msi mobo.

Thanks, I think there's no heat problem. I've initially monitored temps in Windows and saw typical temps at idle of 35 to 38°C. Those temps jumped to less than 90° (based on audible feedback discussed below) when testing in macOS. I'm using (as in Signature), an Enermax Liqtch 360 which has a plate designed for Threadripper. They have a bad rep, so on purchase, I completely dismantled, flushed the radiator, smoothed the innards of the motor housing (due to burrs) and re-filled with anti-corrosion fluid. Then I lapped the base of the copper plate as it was far from flat. It took me almost 90 min of wet-sanding to get it flat (see spoilers). Because of the lapping and large heat sink size, I think there is very good heat transfer. I've adjusted fans speeds in BIOS, which are rather flat until 65°C and then gradually ramp up. This gives me an audible indicator of temps. There is another ramp up at ~80°C and then everything (fans and pump) goes to 100% (loud) above 90°C. After 30 min (surface still irregular): After 90 min (critical central area is evenly flat):

Hi, maybe I am missing something...are you sure of this picture above? In your pdf on your GitHub there are differences.. 🙂and as it is should not boot (gfx is not there) with our trx40 is better to pass entire usb controllers and not single device..single device may loose many functionality
