Ok..good news playing with MMIO and with opencore 061 i have solved reboot/shutdown problem... now it is working as it must work

MMIO rules shutdown and reboot previous problems

@Rocket88 @Rox67er & any other Asrock TRX40 Creator users.

 

Please check your OC Bootup screen (either film it when in -v verbose or check your bootleg) for an APCI Boot up error (if you are using the GPWR ACPI ssdt and Patch). If you have one tell me the address for _L08.  need to check against mine. We need to find what is stopping Sleep and causing immediate Wake .

 

No Local Variables are initialized for method [_L08]
 

I have a D1B7 device error (like the GPWR ssdt has come unstuck at this address).

Searching thru the DSDT Differences in Fabiosun's MSI board to Asrock TRX40 board I found a reference (highlighted in BOLD) in Prepare To Sleep and Wake to Asrock TRX40... interesting....

 

Do we need: \_SB.PCI0.SBRG.SIO1.SIOS ? Hmmm SIOS (SIO to sleep?)

Also the LEDS (Arg0) is not in MSI ? We need to take a look at what the LEDS/LEDW sleep / Wake are doing.

Creating DSDT files (and worse, maintaining them: a new one is required for BIOS updates), is difficult at best. I went over this over a year ago on this thread and modified a few. I stopped using them soon after.

 

I would not recommend them (and I seem to recall that OC developers were not too keen on using DSDT files either).

Ok I was able to install and  boot into Monterey . I had too clean up my OC EFI  to get it to work. The issue that I'm having is that my internal network cards the Intel I211  and  the Aquatina 10 g are not showing up in Monterey . I do have a USBC that I use fro my MacBook Pro that I'm able to load but it does not show as built in so I can  connect to the Apple server 🤦‍♂️

You are using an Aquantia patch with "base" parameter (you can try to delete it) 

or try to download my EFI in OP and take from there exact patch!

 

i211 does not work again in latest beta (I have not tested it because I use Aquantia ethernet)

hello everyone,

with the rumors that the Monterey would be released tomorrow, are there some special settings that needs to be done to boot that on our TRX40s or would the same EFI as I currently use to boot Big Sur work just fine?

Some problem could occur if you use an old EFi with old kext and OpenCore

If you use i211 ethernet in beta 10 it doesn't work

If you do not see in update Monterey Release (or beta if you use developer seed catalog) you have to update opencore to latest 075 and put in SecureBootModel Default value*

You can also follow all said above plus add RestrictEvents.kext (1.05)

I updated the Aquatina patch and still can not seem to load the Aqautina in Monterey.  I have attached my current EFI.

As well as Monterey Big Sur has been officially updated to the final 11.61! (along with a device Support update)

For some reason, I'm not seeing the update(s). I just added the beta profile and upgraded from Big Sur, pretty smooth, but the version is 21A5552a (Beta 10), and the RC1 (21A558) is not showing up. I've got SecureBootModel set to Disabled as I can't boot otherwise, is there another tweak I'm missing?

 

Oops. Seems to work changing the SecureBootModel to "j160", corresponding to the MacPro7,1. I'll leave this comment up in case someone searches for a solution.

How to re-set to "en0" has been discussed before, but in case you've forgotten:

Re-set “en0” ethernet configuration from Terminal, then re-boot computer:

 

sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist

 

 

So I reset the serial number as I forgot to input one field into Config.plist and now it works out. I also flash the card and now Thunderbolt is working as expected.

 

I wonder about OpenCore: is it suggested to update it or stay at the same version?

No @gosiin opencore zip you can find also a file (difference.pdf) 

there sometimes are well written Opencore change, some time is mandatory execute them well otherwise system does not start

However, if you have updated with your EFI to some latest beta greater than beta 7, you should also update well to latest RC or final next days

Besides setting to Default, I also had to disable RadeonSensor and enable RestrictEvents (I did both at same time, so maybe only one or the other was necessary); otherwise I got a KP during install at the 2nd re-boot (display froze immediately after RadeonSensor was loaded and the 1st bank of RAM was loaded). 

 

After doing above, the install resumed without any problems.
