  1. Thanks Arrakis 🙂 1) whats the easiest way to remove it? I am used to running Hackintosh with Glover but I have about zero clue about the config.plist. So removing makes me a bit scared as I think I might damage something. 2) the card that came with the mobo is broken, it is not even detected by the BIOS. Replacement was hard to get but it should be there next week. Do I need another version of the SSDT if its Revision 2 or vice versa? 3) ah I can just string replace and should be happy? 4) I double checked the manual and was never able to see which slot is number 4. I guess to one closest to the CPU is 1 and downwards are 2,3,4? 5) yes good point 😄
  2. Okay thanks again. So what would the senseful process look like, lets say replacing the graphics card? it will most likey still boot, but I need to check if the MMIO has changed and update the whitelist accordingly otherwise every now and then booting will fail? Should we update to the latest Big Sur release or rather stay away from it? I just saw that one popping up 😄
  3. Thank you so much! Two questions remaning: 1) the boot drive was renamed, in OpenCore it still shows the old name. Is there a way to fix that? 2) if I add a Thunderbolt card or another graphics card, do I have to check the MMIO again or just BIOS settings?
  4. So this would also need to change if BIOS gets updated or things like that? Thanks for sticking with me. I put in your config, system started normaly and here is the log: opencore-2021-09-21-133622.txt.zip
  5. No yet, I couldnt figure out yet what needs to go in there... I removed serial and UUID from the config file. Config.plist.zip
  6. Thanks again! I really appreciate you all working through this so people with less knowledge (like me) can also run Threadripper with OS X. I updated / set my signature so my hardware setup is now documented. I updated the EFI to your setup and I added the -v as boot parameter so I can see whats going on. I have a screenshot here, maybe somebody can confirm the kernel panic is because of the MMIO? Actually if the system boots up it runs for days, so I omly run into that issue when the computer was turned of or in Windows for a while. If it runs, it runs! Also I had WPA3 activated in my WiFi setup, actually WPA2/WPA3 was selected, once I set it to "WPA2 only" the connection was established faster and works pretty well now. Thanks for pointing out!
  7. ah thanks! MMIO whitelist is now on my todo list. Not sure I get why some were marked green and some red but I will do it! Thanks for the help! @Monteray: since WiFi is not working properly with my mainboard in Big Sur, I assume its broken in Monteray as well? So currently I used the wired Intel i21x yes, so if I upgrade to Monteray I would have to get another Network Card?
  8. No I have not yet patched it, thanks for pointing out, I will try that method and see if it helps! About the -v, I knew how that works with Clover but with OpenCore if I press space, nothing happens. Any idea what could be the problem? I used the "EFI OP 0.7.0 -Big Sur 11.4 GIGABYTE Trx40 Rev 1.1" from this thread, as it matches my hardware really well and like I said installation worked fine every time, just after a while it dies. To which OpenCore version could I savely upgrade? Thanks for your time 🙂 PS: What is broken in Monteray if one tries the beta right now?
  9. Hello there! First thanks for all the efforts on getting OS X running on Threadripper platform! After I found this thread I was certain I could get it working as well and bought the hardware. So far all went really well 🙂 I use the Gigabyte TRX 40 Designare v.1. running Big Sur and besides WiFi most things do work really great. I have two interessting issues though: 1) if I open a cloud document in Photoshop it loads but as soon as the picture is show, Photoshop just crashes. If I use local files all is fine. Maybe somebody has an idea about that? (minor inconvinience, so not that important) 2) my OS X installation is dual boot with Winodws 10. Both have their own SSD drive. After a while (not sure why, how, when) the OS X will not boot any longer. It shows the OS X logo and the progress bar. Just when it gets to roughly 25% the system restarts. So I cannot start into OS X any more. I did a reinstallation and it worked again for two days, now its broken again. No changes to OpenCore or the hardware in those cases so I have no clue what I could do. Thanks for your help!
