ok, today our forum is a bit laggy..so it is difficult to interact well (it is in a maintenance )

    in my EFI

put # in front my mmio (MMIO is related to bios and motherboard manufactured ) you have to use yours

you can find it in your debug txt on the EFI root

try to start as I have said and see

I need to buy you guys Pizzas for all the help so far ! haha

I can't seem to find MMIO in config. I used the one on the 1st page

Just put it on a USB stick, reboot, press F12 and select the USB stick.

Something weird is happening.. So here is what i did.

If I use @Ploddles EFi , it gives me that error and doesn't work

If i Use @fabiosun EFI now that i have it installed , it loads and now the graphics works great but after a minute it restarts

If I use my EFI , it's stable but the graphics are laggy

    ??

    without does it start?

then you have a mix of stuff...

    ie

many kext to avoid some problem with MacPro7.1 Smbios

but you are using an Imacpro1.1 Smbios

Also you are using old kext for AMDPower gadget Tools

and also APMInjector kext..that is probably un useful and done for other GPU than yours

What would you recommend i delete? I 've tried booting with @Ploddles efi but still get the same error. This is so weird... Isn't the same motherboard supposed to work?

you have to cover only your serial number on about my Mac..and let see gpu memory or name...

it seems your GPU is not active and it seems you are in vesa mode

It doesnt show any Graphics card information there! Nothing at all!

How do i get out of vesa mode?

Surprisingly wifi , ethernet , imessage , audio works but everything is very laggy and slow

You should be able to boot a system transplanted from another machine, just use the EFI for the TRX4, not the one from the other hack.

Can you get hold of an RX580 for example? Get one from Amazon, try that and then return it. That way at least you eliminate/confirm it is a graphics card problem.

How would i do that? The other system uses Clover, do I just replace the kexts or the whole thing?

Do yo have an external USB drive? If so you could do a Carbon Copy of your running system (real Mac / another Hack?) and then try and boot to that on the TRX4.

That was the way I first started, couldn't install straight away. I put another M.2 drive in my Hack, Carbon Copied my running system and put that in the new one. I could then boot that and do a fresh install from that to my new M.2.

I've tried but unfortunately the old installation doesn't boot on the new system.

I'm so buffled.. @fabiosun efi progresses me to the installation screen with a completely different motherboard and then restarts. So weird!

Is that a behavior of the graphics card you think?

It seems a problem with your disk

    try another one to test

alao a mechanical drive if you have

your is first trx40 I have no success to do it booting

    😂

haha MY LUCK! I have to suffer a lot before something works , story of my life !

It's not only when i click Disk Utility . If i leave it , the mouse gets stuck and restarts right away.

    Latest try

in kernel/quirk flag dummy power management

or un flag if you have flagged

It is correct like you have

I've tried that as well.. Still the same

Btw, I havent used the .ioreg on the first page. Is that crucial?

I will try to do more tests tonight and hopefully i come up with something!

I cant thank you enough for your help @Ploddles @fabiosun. Fingers crossed i manage to get it to work

Check the label on the box it came in, it will say Rev 1.0 or Rev 1.1. It will also be screen printed on the MB somewhere.

As Fabiosun says, disable the SSDTs. My system boots with and without them (I haven't got round to testing everything works without them yet). It isn't getting to a point where kexts would be loaded.

    It's rev 1.0 .

Disabled the ssdts but still the same issue. Oh boy ! The thought of windows makes me shiver ....

  10. 3 minutes ago, Ploddles said:

If you loaded the profile then everything is ok. You don't by any chance have the Rev 1.1 of the motherboard do you? I don't know what the difference are between Rev 1.0 and 1.1.

1 more thing you could try is to remove the X.M.P profile in the BIOS. I can't think of anything else atm.

How do i check that? I disabled XMP and still get the same error

I would also simplify more you can all ssdt or kext you have in your Efi

I will try removing as many kexts as i can and see if there is any progress! Is there a baseline config I can use?

One other thing to try could be to move the GTX to slot 2 or 4. I think we have run out of possibilities atm but the GTX is natively supported so should be OK.

Which slot is your M.2 installed in?

I've just noticed you have a Gigabyte M.2. Some M.2 drives aren't comparable with macOS (due to the controller chip on them). Do you have another brand you could try, or just a normal SSD (remove the M.2 first)?

I will try those now and let you know! I've tried with an ssd but it didn't work , ill see if changing the slot helps! The m.2 is installed in the first slot under the graphics card slot 1

No, that won't make a difference, until you try to sign in with your Apple ID.

Big Sur has just this minute appeared in the App Store so you could download it from there, might be easier.

    Thank you so much @Ploddles

    I'll try that as well.

The only thing that i can think of is the GTX760 i have. I had it running on an intel hackintosh in Catalina without any problems but i don't know if its even relevant since I was using clover.

  13. 1 minute ago, Ploddles said:

I don't think it will make any difference, who knows until you try, but you can use the attached to download Big Sur (run gibMacOS.command). Once downloaded run the downloaded install assistant and it will create the installer in your Applications folder. Copy that to your USB.

That last config file I sent you, I forgot to remove my serial numbers etc, please change them to yours.

    gibMacOS-master.zip 540.8 kB · 0 downloads

I havent setup any serial numbers, could that be the problem?
