RX 6950XT Brand choice -

Mac Arthur

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

This is my 1st post here, I am usually on another "brother" AMD Hack forum and on the big brother Tony 🙂 .

I already read some very interesting topics @fabiosun your config is just amazing!

I plan to buy a RX 6950XT GPU.

Unfortunately because of my location, choice is only XFX Speedster Merc319 RX 6950XT. It has 3DP ports and that's great but I don't have any experience with this brand. I am a big fan of Gigabyte with 2 RX 5700XT already.

Any feedback from some users?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Mac

ciao @Mac Arthurwelcome here

i am mariettosun on AMD-OSX forum so you know me 🙂

Your gpu choice is very good.

you have additional step to do (all 6950 xt need spoofing them to a 6900xt) but it is very simple and you can find how to do  in my EFI or various threads we have here

OMG 🙂

World is so small 🙂

In fact I'll post soon on AMD-OSX but I really got addicted by AMD Hack after long standing with Intel!

I am also considering upgrading my first configuration to a larger one and selling the original unit.

Asus Hero looks good, with TB and so on.

Starting to think about...

But you confirm that XFX is a go-brand. Thanks for that!

See you around.

BTW you will notice that wherever I go I have the same pseudonym and the same avatar. I contribute a lot as well to help Mac users, but not hackintosher as I am not skilled enough 🙂

Have a look here... that's why I appreciate those who spend time for beginners.

@Mac Arthurupgrade to a powerfull AMD is a good choice

if for you parallels is mandatory to have it AMD cpu is a problem for it

Also some apps like adobe one needs additional patch to work perfectly (but then it work well as on intel system or mac system ones)

Asus hero is a good motherboard

All new ASUS bios (for AMD) need to patch dsdt to work with OSX (i mean new bios with lates incoming support for new cpu)

i use an old bios for my Hero but i have also tested latest 2007 (with a patch for dsdt)

i use a fenvi wifi because i like airdrop and other feature not possible to have with original intel ax210 wifi

I already saw the "stories" regarding the patch of BIOS, not an issue for me

I can deal with Adobe Patch if it is necessary. I guess I'll find somewhere when diving for in depth in the sub-forums.

But Oups 😞 Parallels Desktop is a major issue for me 😞 😞

No way to patch the official licence?

In that case, I seriously need to consider it twice!

Thanks for the warning, I did not see anything on the other forum, and no answer to my post...
