Nighthawk99
Hello guys, I updated today to Lightroom Classic V11.3.1 on my hackintosh (Dell XPS 15 9570), but it crashes on startup. Is anyone able to run this version by applying some fix? The previous installed version (V11.0) was running without issues, I revert back to that version for the moment. Thank you. Moderators tomnic Posted May 29, 2022 Moderators Share Posted May 29, 2022 It starts perfectly on my Ryzen 9 5950x: No patches needed yet, since AMDFriend cannot find any intel specific code. Search in console app the crash log of Lightroom and post it please. 1
Nighthawk99
Hello, thanks for the reply. I opened up the console app, but the only crash report is the below one, which is not on the date I had this issue. Am I wrong? Do you have Big Sur or Monterey on your Ryzentosh? What is the Camera Raw version? Edited June 2, 2022 by Nighthawk99
pixelfixer
Update: Seems to be related to network interface. LR 12 is fully functional when using my built in Intel I211 ethernet on Big Sur, but does not work if I switch to USB dongle (which I need to use for Monterey / Ventura). Any ideas on how I can fix this on Monterey / Ventura? Can I somehow make my USB dongle appear internal? Force it to be en0? There is a newly updated I211 driver that seems to be mostly working depending on the motherboard. So far I've only lost connection once. Crossing my fingers this is a longterm solution. Thank you for letting me use your forum thread to document my self-help journey. Hopefully someone else will find this helpful in the future. -- original post below -- Did you ever find a solution for this? Latest version that works for me is 11.0.1. I've tried 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, 11.5, 12. I can get the app to open now, but Develop Module won't load, and I can't import photos. I'm also having trouble with Lightroom cloud sync. I'm currently running OC 8.3 on a x570 3900x with Monterey 12.6, but also tried Big Sur 11.6 and a fresh install of Monterey. Have not tried Ventura yet. Installed Ventura, same problem no version after 11.0.1 works.Could it be related to AMD kernel patches? (Edit: Updating to latest kernel Patches for Ventura had no effect. ) Apologies for bumping an old thread, but I'm getting desperate haha Here is an abbreviated crash report: Spoiler Process: Adobe Lightroom Classic [1766] Path: /Applications/Adobe Lightroom Classic/Adobe Lightroom Classic.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Lightroom Classic Identifier: com.adobe.LightroomClassicCC7 Version: 12.0.1 Code Type: X86-64 (Native) Parent Process: launchd [1] User ID: 501 Date/Time: 2022-11-01 21:56:25.5188 -0700 OS Version: macOS 12.6 (21G115) Report Version: 12 System Integrity Protection: enabled Crashed Thread: 4 cr_scratch Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000 Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY Application Specific Information: abort() called Thread 4 Crashed:: cr_scratch 0 libsystem_kernel.dylib 0x7ff807fa600e __pthread_kill + 10 1 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0x7ff807fdc1ff pthread_kill + 263 2 libsystem_c.dylib 0x7ff807f27d24 abort + 123 3 libc++abi.dylib 0x7ff807f98082 abort_message + 241 4 libc++abi.dylib 0x7ff807f891a5 demangling_terminate_handler() + 242 5 libobjc.A.dylib 0x7ff807e86016 _objc_terminate() + 104 6 libc++abi.dylib 0x7ff807f974a7 std::__terminate(void (*)()) + 8 7 libc++abi.dylib 0x7ff807f97458 std::terminate() + 56 8 CameraRaw 0x129d97e0b 0x12926f000 + 11701771 9 CameraRaw 0x129a68c51 0x12926f000 + 8363089 10 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0x7ff807fdc4e1 _pthread_start + 125 11 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0x7ff807fd7f6b thread_start + 15 Thread 4 crashed with X86 Thread State (64-bit): rax: 0x0000000000000000 rbx: 0x00007000078f6000 rcx: 0x00007000078f5918 rdx: 0x0000000000000000 rdi: 0x000000000000a10b rsi: 0x0000000000000006 rbp: 0x00007000078f5940 rsp: 0x00007000078f5918 r8: 0x00007000078f57e0 r9: 0x00007ff807f9af78 r10: 0x0000000000000000 r11: 0x0000000000000246 r12: 0x000000000000a10b r13: 0x0000003000000008 r14: 0x0000000000000006 r15: 0x0000000000000016 rip: 0x00007ff807fa600e rfl: 0x0000000000000246 cr2: 0x0000700001a46498 Logical CPU: 0 Error Code: 0x02000148 Trap Number: 133 Edited November 2, 2022 by pixelfixer Updated with partial fix
